Our mission:

Ancestors Community Charter High School has been designed to provide an alternative educational experience for students who are unable to succeed in a traditional high school environment. The school has been designed to inspire students to achieve academic, social and career success by providing a supportive community that identifies, encourages, and develops each student's individual interests and abilities.

Special features of our program:

Students attend four extended class periods per day, rather than racing from one 40-minute class to another. This "block schedule" allows for more focused time to study subjects in greater depth.

All students participate in community service activities.
Students have the opportunity to take courses at local college campuses.
Students can receive credit for work experience as part of their individualized programs of study.

Ancestors Community Charter High School was founded by New Opportunities for Waterbury (NOW).
